Semtech Transceivers SX127x family

Hello, I have been informed by Semtech sales that the SX1276 is not recommended for new designs. I have looked through Semtechs site, reference designs, digikey, and mouser, but have not seen NFRND. What SX12XX family and part number would you recommend for new designs?
